WW-II/Korean US Armour

1/144 Shermans, some Trumpeter, some Pegasus and some Revell kits, the Trumpeter and Pegasus were done in basic green so did washes and highlights to bring up the detail. Revell Shermans have 4 standard 75mm, 4 conversions to flame tanks and 4 to Sherman 105s. Armoured cars had a crewman added.

105s.

Flamethrowers.

Standard Shermans and Greyhound armoured cars.

WW-II German Fallschirmjäger and artillery

German Fallschirmjäger heavy weapons and Wehrmacht rocket artillery from Minifigs, nice models but quite thin around the ankles so need to be careful of breaking them. The smocks are done in camo, a little hard to see in 1/144 but the overhead shot shows some of it.

Semi historical/fantasy Arab army part 2

Small addition to the force, lots more artillery to come for the period as well which is in progress, a couple of Mangonel catapults to start with, also working on a fairly large castle setup from laser cut MDF for these to chuck stuff at!

From memory they're Chariot Models kits I've had for 10 years or more, fiddly to get the ropes from the 3 guys at the front done but once assembled they're really solid. Crews are museum miniatures with the hulk hogan lookalike ammo carrier with blonde locks!

Semi historical/fantasy Arab army part 1

15mm Arab army part 1 - foot and support.

Museum Miniatures army I bought in 2014 sale but moving house and jobs disrupted things and after a number of 'oooh, shiny' incidents I got back round to these. Mainly done wth inks over pale undercoat - dry brush on top in some areas, transfers by Veni Vidi Vici.

Whole army.

Heavy support and shock troops.

Infantry with magician and general.

A couple of decent units of guard.

Plenty of hordes/fanatics/wall fodder.

Missile troops.

Entire force again.

Magician - figured a magic carpet was too tame!

Hero General.

Santahthulu......

OK, I was doing this when the winter themed build kicked off - the Santa hat is a tad tenuous but what the hell, cracking model, lots of detail and playing with inks, washes and different textures.

Hail Santahthulu - hat is from a Christmas wine bottle set!

Sans hat - really nice model, stands 180mm to top of head spiky bits.

Spent ages trying to do the monolith with inset green runes in black stone but never got it right - decided to go with weathered obsidian look instead, lots of detail to play with.

Pulp gribblies, fiends and Lovecraftian horrors.

Ok, definitely back in the swing of it now - finishing off stuff that got boxed up for the move. A variety of nasties from the Reaper 'bones' fantasy range that have a definite Lovecraftian influence and some tentacled creatures from the original AD&D.

I used a lot of inks and highlighting from a place undercoat which bring out the detail nicely - the only downside is they do tend to warp a bit on swords, the mummies have a suitable shambling look though from different angles of legs - I tried the hot/cold water but they bend back over time.

Water, death and fire elementals, ink and colour highlights to bring out the texture.

Fire elemental with friends.

Cthuloid beasties.

Mummy Liche.

With retinue.

Lizard beasties and sea dwellers.

Lovecraftian gribblies.

Ropers and desert fiends.

Back to Productivity - Outlaw Gentlemen and Shady Ladies

After the move and unpacking a bout of a certain virus took me out for a couple of weeks, not a nice experience but survived, still get brain fog but got the painting setup done now. Pulp Alley models (Foundry Darkest Africa) finished off.

Intrepid adventurers in front of the wasteland.

Askari sidekicks.
