Ratte - Serious Heavy Metal

Ok, forgot to put this in the Heavy entry somehow - 1/144 Ratte with Dragon 1/144 Panther for scale:

I already have a few Dragon Maus models in 1/144 so decided this needed flank cover, hence 4AA turrets and a couple of extra firepower options!!

Camo is a bit redundant on this size of beastie but went for what would look like forest from a Lancaster!!

Not what you'd want to see bearing down on you.

Field Defences

OK, a few days of leave and got through a nice lot of fortifications (10mm and 1/144 scale game wise) - I tend to accumulate lots of stuff and batch paint to avoid obvious colour issues over time but not always bang on due to depth of texture on stuff as I use inks and washes a lot.

Revetments I got off ebay - mixed up the order so have 24 large and 48 small ones....

Rear aspect - nice castings.

Timecast bunkers and objective markers.

Have plenty of each, I do have way too much terrain to be fair!

More Timecast and some N gauge railway models for British bunkers (Metcalfe models), camo net is bandage dyed green with crushed up green tea for the scatter.

Tent city - same ebay guy as the revetments.

German bunkers from Steve Oates at the Baggage Train.

Log MG bunkers, again from the Baggage Train.

Korean War NKPA

10mm Scale NKPA from Pendraken, fantastic figures with good definition and great detail. Waiting to add some more support in the form of RR and HMG. Based for BCK-IV to match the rest of my stuff.

Entire force - 6 battalions infantry with command and mortar support.

Light mortars and Command.

The CO needed many flags, spotters and snipers in front, objective markers to the rear.

Heavy mortars - really nice models.

Line infantry.

Assault troops - the guy in helmet with SMG and grenadiers matched nicely for this.

Penal battalion - had spare LMGs and officers with binoculars to give a couple of 'motivational speakers' for the command side!!

Line infantry in detail, lots of animation in the poses.

Command, heavy mortars, FAO/FAC, snipers and light mortars.

CO Close up.

Bttn HQ.

Heavy mortar - the ammo box with a round in is a nice touch.

Medium mortar - travel wheels on base come up nicely.

Penal units with MG for motivation in the rear.

Line troops.

Royal Marine 41 (Independent) Commando Korea

41 Commando with the new Pendraken figures.
Went with the shoulder patch for 41 Commando for the flags on command and objectives over standard Union Jack - blue background gives a UN forces feel.

41 Commando in full

Bazooka and Fire support - not sure on the 0.30 CAL from the hip to be honest

As above

Mortars, spotters and recce

Spotters and recce up close

Sniper teams

HQ, command and AA
Oerlikon cannon were spares from the Revell US vehicle set I got to do a South Korean cavalry unit and as it's the sprues from the tank landing ship I have 24 guns so added these in - not on historical ORBAT but they are nice models so shame to waste them.

Close up on guns.

10/12mm Ruins

Ruined buildings for the 10/12mm WW2/Korea stuff

First lot are from The Baggage Train by Steve Oates - nice resin kits with a lot of texture, I added the timbers (matchsticks), rubble (cork chippings) and the metal floors/barricades (textured plasticard).

Next ones are old Fieldworks models I repainted as they had got very tired looking after 15 years of use.

All together they match in pretty well so a good sized FIBUA option for the little lead fellows!
