Santahthulu......

OK, I was doing this when the winter themed build kicked off - the Santa hat is a tad tenuous but what the hell, cracking model, lots of detail and playing with inks, washes and different textures.

Hail Santahthulu - hat is from a Christmas wine bottle set!

Sans hat - really nice model, stands 180mm to top of head spiky bits.

Spent ages trying to do the monolith with inset green runes in black stone but never got it right - decided to go with weathered obsidian look instead, lots of detail to play with.

Pulp gribblies, fiends and Lovecraftian horrors.

Ok, definitely back in the swing of it now - finishing off stuff that got boxed up for the move. A variety of nasties from the Reaper 'bones' fantasy range that have a definite Lovecraftian influence and some tentacled creatures from the original AD&D.

I used a lot of inks and highlighting from a place undercoat which bring out the detail nicely - the only downside is they do tend to warp a bit on swords, the mummies have a suitable shambling look though from different angles of legs - I tried the hot/cold water but they bend back over time.

Water, death and fire elementals, ink and colour highlights to bring out the texture.

Fire elemental with friends.

Cthuloid beasties.

Mummy Liche.

With retinue.

Lizard beasties and sea dwellers.

Lovecraftian gribblies.

Ropers and desert fiends.
